Afghan Hounds
Although the emphasis has always been on Whippets, Bohem has also bred Afghan Hound and Greyhound champions.
Ch. Ariadne el Khandahar
The first dog owned by Bo, in partnership with his sister Inga, was the black masked red Afghan Hound female Ch. Ariadne el Khandahar, born in Sweden in 1959 but of English descent from Carloway, Acklam and Chaman bloodlines. She produced the two first homebred champions in the black-and-cream/black-and-tan litter brothers Int. Ch. Bohem Python and Ch. Bohem Waalph, both of whom did very well in Breed and Group competition in the 1960s.
Int. Ch. Bohem Python & Ch. Bohem Waalph
Python (left) was a multiple Group winner and won Res. BIS at an FCI international show; Waalph, who was owned by Inga Bengtson, was Res. BIS at a Sighthound show, handled by Bo. With Inga's premature death in a car crash in 1970 the Afghan Hound involvement was over.
